Ajanta Pharma is setting up new formulations plant in Dahej SEZ and Savli in Vadodara district of Gujarat with an investment of Rs.4000 million. The company will start work by Feb 2013 and will complete the same by 2014-15. Besides this, the company operates 4 manufacturing unit across India and one in Marutius. Ajanta is currently present in therapeutic areas of anti- malarial, cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, musculoskeletal, ophthalmology and respiratory.
Panacea Biotec had commissioned a new manufacturing facility at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 550 million. It will manufacture anti cancer formulations and will have a capacity of 1.2 million vials. It will cater to export markets of USA, where there is a rising demand for oncology products. Currently, the company caters to the market from its Navi Mumbai plant.
Lupin Pharmaceuticals is setting up a new formulation manufacturing facility in Multi modal International Cargo Hub and Airport (MHIAN) SEZ in Nagpur. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 4000 million and will produce new formulations for export to US, Japan and Europe. The project will go operational in 2013.

Lincoln Pharma is planning an expansion at its existing Khatraj plant near Ahmedabad with an investment of Rs. 300 million. The company is scrapping its old plant which was built in 1979 to build a modern plant for regulated markets. It will produce injectables, ampoules, vials, dry powders, ointments. The capacity of the new unit will 30 million units. The project is likely to go operational by December 2011. The company is also setting up a new facility at Nandasan in Mehesana district of Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 600 million.
