The new manufacturing facility will have a total capacity of 10.70 mtpm and will produce Amlodipine besylate, Clopidogrelbysulphate, Olmesartan, Olmesartan, Levo cetrizine di HCl, Losartan Potassium, Montelukast, Pantoprazole Sodium, Turbinafin and Valsartan etc., The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 32.79 million.

Vardhman Chemtech is planning to set up a bulk drug unit in Derabassi in Mohali district of Punjab. The project involves setting up of new manufacturing facilities to produce Ethyl Aceto Acetate (EAA) (144 tpa), Methyl Aceto Acetate (MAA) (144 tpa), 2-Ethyl Sodium Hexanoate (1275 tpa), Manganese Dioxide (80 tpa), Cloxacillin Sodium (800 tpa), Di-cloxacillin Sodium Monohydrate (110 tpa), Flucloxacillin Sodium Monohydrate (110 tpa), Oxacillin Sodium Monohydrate (110 tpa) Ampicillin Trihydrate (110 tpa) and Amoxycillin Trihydrate (600 tpa). The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 65 million.

Vivin Laboratories is planning to set up bulk drug manufacturing unit in village Mukteswarapuram in Jaggayapet Mandal in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 103.6 million. The new plant will produce amiodarone hydrochloride (2.0 mtpm), bupropion hydrochloride (1.5 mtpm), clopidogrel bisulfate (5.0 mtpm), efaviranez (4.0 mtpm), gabapentin (4.0 mtpm), lamivudine (10.0 mtpm), nevirapine (1.0 mtpm), paliperidone (2.0 mtpm) among other chemicals. The total capacity of the facility will be 52.5 mtpm.

Matrix Laboratories Ltd, a major pharmaceutical company is planning to invest Rs.500 million to expand its Nashik production facilities. It is manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and solid oral dosage forms in Vizag and in Nashik. Currently, the Nashik plant which manufactures solid oral dosage formulations has a capacity of 4 billion units and it is to be expanded to 6 billion units by end of FY2011. The plant is spread over a 49,701 sq mtrs with 28,431 sq mtrs built-up area.
