Surya Pharma, Chandigarh based pharma company  is planning to set up 500 pharma retail outlets with an investment of Rs. 2500 million. In the first phase, 100 stores will be opened up in National Capital Region and will be expanded to Chandigarh and Gurgaon later.  Initially, the company will own the stores which areto be built on 150 to 1000 sq.ft will be owned then later will move to franchise models. The presence of spurious drug market and increasing affluence of customers to purchase healthcare products makes many pharma companies to venture into retailing
