Syngene International, a subsidiary of Biocon has opened  a new R&D facility for its client Bristol Myers Squibb. This unit built on 200000 sq.feet has currently 270 researchers and has plans to increase it to 360 by year end and will carry out drug discovery and development from initial hit to optimisation to clinical studies. 

Ozone Ayurvedic, the FMCG division of Ozone group has plans to invest Rs. 500 million in R&D to develop new formulations in skincare. It is deploying segmentation strategy in a successful way. For eg. It is launching its brand ‘Nomarks’ for different age category. It is also looking at introducing products at affordable range of Rs.10 and Rs.70 and new products like oil free sun-screen lotion, anti-acne face pack, no pimple no marks face cream etc., The company has 3 plants each at Assam and Himachal Pradesh and also organic farms in Assam and in Haryana. It has Kiran Bedi as its brand ambassador.
